Windows XP SP3Do you know that whenever we reinstall Windows XP on our system, all updates and patches you applied to your system before through Windows Update have to be reinstalled.

Why not create a Windows XP installation disc that contains all the hotfixes and patches you installed on your system??

Here is what you need to create the disc:

  • nLite 1.4.5 (with Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0)
  • Windows XP installation Disc
  • A blank disc to write your new version of XP
  • Windows XP Service Pack 3(316 MB download for IT professionals and developers)

After you have all the required material, Follow these steps to create the disc:

Firstly put your Windows XP installation disc in disc drive and then start nLite and select the language and click next, then select some folder on your hard disk to store Windows XP files, Make sure you have enough space to save files (700-800 MB).

nLite will copy files from Win XP CD to the folder you selected above. It’ll show the curent version of your Windows XP. You may now take out Windows XP disc from disc drive. Click next and you’ll encounter Presets Screen, Click next if you haven’t worked with nLite before. Presets is for already saved versions of Windows XP built using nLite.

Windows XP SP3On the next screen you can select what you want to customize. For our case, select  Service Pack and Bootable ISO in case you need to save ISO image of your new disk.

After that you can select the SP 3 exe which you downloaded earlier, When you select SP3 exe, it’ll take a few moments to integrate SP3 into Windows XP installation disc. After Integrating, it’ll display the updated version of your Windows XP files.
