Finding ebooks on the internet has never been this easy. Heres a search engine called pdf search engine powered by google which is exclusively dedicated to this purpose. You just have to enter the name of the book and you will find a lot of pdf results matching to your query. You can find any pdf file that you are looking for, that is other than ebooks it can also get you any pdf document available on the net. This feature is also available in google, you just have to type your query plus filetype:pdf to get the same results,  I have referred to it in my earlier post “Some new and unknown features of google“.

Revo Unistaller is a nifty freeware uninstall manager for Windows which is much faster than Windows Add/Remove Programs utility and also lets you you uninstall programs in a more cleaner way by giving you option to remove every single trace of a software on your system.

It is always wise to save your documents and files in drives other than on which Windows is loaded so that in case, you need to reinstall windows, then your data is safe. By default, most softwares choose My Documents as their preferred location to save files. And if you use My Documents to save your files, then it is recommended that you must change the default location of My Documents Folder.

Here’s a nice tip on how to create a keyboard shortcut for launching Firefox in Windows. Just right click on shortcut icon of Firefox and open its Properties dialog.

Under Shortcut key in Shortcut tab press any alpha-numeric key on your keyboard and shortcut will be created as Ctrl+Alt+ [your key] e.g. if you press F on your keyboard, shortcut will be created as Ctrl+Alt+F.

This shortcut is quite useful when you need to launch Firefox, when you have several windows open and don’t want to minimize them to get to Firefox shortcut or  so tired to click on start menu and browse for Firefox shortcut.

This technique can be used for almost any program, just drop its shortcut on Desktop and apply above procedure to create a shortcut. This method works both in Windows XP and Vista.

Visual search is becoming more popular day by day. I have discussed some other visual search engines in my earlier posts. But now it’s yahoo’s turn, as they have added this new feature to their search engine. Actually yahoo is providing more simplestic visual search. It provides this feature with the help of new concept called glue pages. Let’s understand it more clearly.

You might be aware of the fact that Firefox 3 provides automatic virus scanning of downloaded files on completion of download. This feature works only when your system has an Anti Virus program installed. Though this feature may be useful but the scanning of downloaded files may be annoying as it puts extra load on system and it is not that necessary as most anti virus softwares provide real time monitoring and protection.
