Change the default Location of My Documents Folder

It is always wise to save your documents and files in drives other than on which Windows is loaded so that in case, you need to reinstall windows, then your data is safe. By default, most softwares choose My Documents as their preferred location to save files. And if you use My Documents to save your files, then it is recommended that you must change the default location of My Documents Folder.

To change the default Location of My Documents, simply right click on My Documents icon on desktop or in Start menu, and choose Properties.
Then under Target tab, click on Move to choose a new location for your My Documents Folder, then click on Apply and then on Ok. This will change default location of My Documents.
In case you need to revert back to default location, simply open properties of My Documents and click on Restore Default button.
