Google is always up with something new. This time they are experimenting something very cool. Now you can get the results of your query on maps and timeline. Though google is still experimenting it,but still we can use these features. These are…..
1. To see results on a map
a).Type your query followed by the keyword “view” and “:” and then type “map” immediately after “:” for eg. if you want to search for london then simply type the query as:-london view:map. Then you will get text results with the map showing the related locations and you can zoom into the area of your interest.

As this feature is still under experimentation,so sometimes when you enter the query in the above stated format you may get normal results without maps.If you get normal results without maps then note one thing that after the execution of the query, automatically a space will be generated between : and map ,just delete the space and enter the query again, you will get the result with maps.Same case implies in timeline search stated below.
2. To see results on a timeline
b).The query format is same as above ,just replace map with timeline. For eg. olympics view:timeline. The results of the query will be displayed according to the timeline. You can choose a specific time line by yourself. As you can see in the image below that timeline is between 2000-2008,you can select a particular year from it or you can move the timeline by clicking the arrow on either side of the timeline, and the results will be according to that time period. The image below is a result of olympics timeline search and if you choose 2008 from it,you will find results related to beijing olympics 2008.

3. Search for a particular filetype
This feature is very old but many of us are not aware of it.If you want to search for a particular filetype like pdf,doc or any other filetype then enter your query followed by filetype:extension. For eg. data mining filetype:pdf, this query will generate pdf results related to data mining.
