Seems like Google is the only player in the game of web tools development. Just in few couple of days, Google has improved its functionality in many areas including Google News, GMail, Google’s rate-n-review facility and the list goes on. This time Google has come up with an improvement in Google Calendar.
This time, Google Calendar development team has added CalDAV support to Google Calendar.
CalDAV is an open protocol that allows calendar access via WebDAV. CalDAV models calendar events as HTTP resources in iCalendar format, and models calendars containing events as WebDAV collections. This allows you to publish and subscribe to calendars, share them collaboratively, sync between multiple users and sync between multiple devices.
CalDAV support in Google calendar will allow the users to view and edit Google calendar events directly in iCal, that means when you make changes to iCal they will be directly reflected in Google Calendar and you’ll see them next time you log in to Google Calendar. The reverse is also true. Offline editing facility has been specially taken care of, that means offline changes made to iCal will be saved and appear when you get back online.
In order to learn its usage follow this page about how to add calendar in iCal.
