Hide Common Tasks Pane in Explorer.
While using Windows Explorer, you are forced to see the Common Tasks Pane located to left of the screen which provides links to various locations and utilities.

Though it looks good but how many times have you used any link on Common Tasks Pane. I don’t think I’ve ever used that Common Tasks pane. If you also seldom use that Common Tasks Pane, why not remove it to provide more space to icons.
To Hide Common Tasks Pane, Simply Open My Computer and from Tools Menu select Folder Options.

Now under General tab, select Use Windows classic folders and click Ok.
