Make All Programs list Single Paned Scrolling List
If you do not like your All Programs List to take up lot of space in case you have installed a lot of softwares and All Programs list becomes two or three paned, then you can change the behavior of All Programs list under Start Menu to a single paned scrolling list.

Follow these steps to do it:
1. Open Start Menu and Taskbar Properties by right clicking anywhere on Taskbar and selecting Properties.

2. Then under Start Menu Tab, click on Customize and then in the Customize Start Menu Window, select Advanced tab, and look for Scroll Programs Entry, check it and click OK and see the result.
