Translate Web Pages with gTranslate

Sponsored Links

Today, i had to sign-up with a Chinese web site to use their Document reader software. As the website was in Chinese language, at first i thought of using Google Translate to translate that page to English but then at second thought, i searched for a Firefox add-on that can do translation of web page for me.

And guess what?? i found this very useful add-on ‘gTranslate’ for Firefox that lets translate web pages to multiple languages.

After installing gTranslate Firefox add-on, just open any web page you would like to translate.  Firstly right click anywhere on the web page and from context menu select Translate and then from Languages, first select the source language(the language the source text is in) and then the destination language.

Now select some text on the page and then right click on it and choose Translate, then you would see the translated version of the selected text based on your language choice.

If the selected text is large and the translated result does not fit in context menu, click on translated text and it’ll open up in new tab to show whole of the translated text.

This add-on uses Google Translate service to do translation. therefore, only the languages supported by Google Translate are available. It works for all versions of Firefox.
