How To Add Folders or Drives to Send To Context Menu?

Remember that Send To context menu when you right click any folder or file in your Explorer. It lists a few locations by default so that you can directly copy files or folders to specified locations. In case, you use one particular folder to keep a copy of your important files or folders, wouldn’t it be nice to have that folder in Send To context menu.

Windows XP:

Firstly create a shortcut to the folder you would like to add to Send To context menu. To do this, right click on that folder and Click on Create Shortcut to create a shortcut to that folder. You can give any descriptive name to that shortcut.

Windows XP - Add entries to Send To Context Menu Now move that shortcut to C: > Documents and Settings > [User name] > Send To Folder, you might have to enable display of Hidden Folders via Folder Options. That’s it, now you’ll be able to move files and folders to specified folder via Send To context menu.

Windows XP - Add entries to Send To Context Menu

Windows Vista

Unlike Windows XP, in Windows Vista, the Send To folder resides under

C: > Users > [User Name] > AppData > Roaming > Microsoft > Windows

(enable display of Hidden Folder via Folder Options in Control Panel). Simply place the shortcut in Send To and there you are with customized Send To context menu.
