Speed Up Opening of My Computer

Are you annoyed by the delay when you open My Computer?? The delay is caused due to Windows looking for network folders and devices. But if you are not on a network which is true for most cases, why should Windows look for network folders and devices.

Here’s how to stop Windows from doing that:

Simply open up My computer, from File menu and click on Tools > Folder Options.

Then under View tab, look for ‘Automatically search for network folders and printers‘, uncheck it and click OK.

Speed up My computer

Now, you’ll experience significant improvement in time My computer takes to open up.

I face the same problems sometimes too. What I did is to run my computer through a computer check up and it was all fixed. If you are interested you can do the same at http://www.pcaholic.com. Apparantly they provide alot of free tools to help in speeding up the computer.
