Popular social bookmarking site Del.icio.us has launched its redesigned version and the domain del.icio.us is now changed to delicious.com.

The new design is expected to be more faster and easy to use. The redesign of del.icio.us was much awaited by its fans as in September last year, del.icio.us showed a glimpse of redesign. It almost took a year to release the new version.

The new version of del.icio.us uses domain-name as delicious.com instead of del.icio.us. So if you have logged in to del.icio.us sometime back and use a browser plugin to use delicious, then you need to login again to delicious.com.

The major features of the newer version as reported by Delicious Blog are:

1. Speed: Delicious has moved to a new infrastructure which will make delicious more faster, responsive and reliable considering its growing user base.

2. Search: The new search engine is also smarter, and more social: you can search within one of your tags, another user’s public bookmarks, or your social network. Now it’s easier to take advantage of the expertise and interests of your friends.

3. Design: The new updated interface is more easy to use and displays information intuitively. You can now use different types of sorting to sort your bookmarks, control how tags or bookmarks are displayed.
