Gmail Labs team today released two new Labs features for Gmail that let you add Google Calendar and Google Docs Gadgets to Gmail.
Google Calendar Gadget lets you view the agendas and gives you an alert when you have a meeting. Google Docs gadget lets you see your recently accessed documents and provides a search box to search within your documents stored at Google Docs.
Go to Settings > Labs in Gmail to enable these Labs features. These gadgets are added to left navigation bar in Gmail below Chat box. Using another Labs experiment, Navbar Drag n Drop, you can easily drag and drop these gadgets to move them up in the navigation bar.
Google Calendar Gadget shows upcoming events, locations and provides quick access to add an event to calendar.
The Google Docs gadget displays list of recent documents or starred documents which you can click to directly open the document and provides a nifty search box to find your documents.
