1. Download Mover

With Download Mover, you can organize files in a particular folder based on their type. For example, move a MP3 file to your Music collections folder or zip or exe to another folder.It just requires you to select a folder to watch and then add extensions of files and their respective locations to move them to.

This one’s pretty useful for keeping your desktop or downloads folder neat and clean.

2. Belvedere

Belvedere offers you some advanced functionality for organizing stuff. You can define rules like “If file is exe and its size greater than 10MB, move it to [location]” or “if file has not been modified for last 10 days, move it to recycle bin” etc. Moreover, the interface is quite simple, just add a folder to folder watch list and then define rules for that folder, rest is the headache of Belevedere.

Another advantage of both these tools is that they do not require installation, so no more cluttering of start menu or desktop.

3. Download Sort [Firefox Only]

Firefox users can easily organize their downloads folder using Download Sort add-on. With this you can define rules based on extensions or keywords in filename and then move files to specified folders instead of filling up Downloads folder. But, this add-on only works when you use ‘right-click, Save Link As..’ method to download from internet.
