Useful Time Saving WordPress shortcuts You Might Not Know

Earlier, i have posted useful keyboard shortcuts for Windows and Ubuntu. Now this time it is the turn of WordPress to get more productive.
Whether you are on a WordPress.com blog or a self-hosted blog, these shortcuts are equally applicable and will surely save you lots of time and you’ll feel more productive and satisfied using WordPress.
Here, goes the shortcuts list some of which you might not know.
Shortcuts for WordPress WYSIWIG Editor

I know many of us use Windows Live Writer or some other tool to write posts instead of WordPress Editor, yet there are large number of folks out there who use WordPress’ editor.
1. Alt+Shift+A – Hyperlink selected text
2. Alt+Shift+T – Add Read More Tag to post
3. Ctrl+[Header Nuber] – Used to apply header tag to current line. e.g. to apply h1 use Ctrl+1 and so on.
4. Alt+Shift+L/ R/ C – Align Left / Right / Center
5. Alt+Shift+S – Justify Text
6. Alt+Shift+D – Strikethrough Text
7. Alt+Shift+U – Start Unordered List or you can select multiple lines and to make then use this shortcut to make them unordered list elements.
8. Alt+Shift+O – Starts an Ordered List.
9. Alt+Shift+P – Adds a new page to your post.
10. Alt+Shift+Q – Enter a blockquote
11. Alt+Shift+H – Toggle full screen mode of editor
Moderating Comments
Tired of moderating hundreds of comments daily clicking on approve or select box of each comment. Then give your hands some rest and use keyboard shortcuts to moderate comments.
WordPress 2.7 provides keyboard shortcuts for comment moderation. Though to use them, you’ll need to enable them in your profile page.

Once you ‘ve enabled the keyboard shortcuts, head over to comments page. When you open comments page on your blog, by default no comment will be in selected state.
1. First of all, press either J or K to select first comment. A selected comment is highlighted with light blue background
2. J will move selection down to next comment.
3. K will move selection one comment up.
4. Once a comment is selected, use can use following keys to perform actions:
- A – approve comment
- U – Unapprove comment
- S – Mark comment as spam
- D – Delete selected comment
- Q – Quick Edit selected comment
- E – Edit selected comment
- R – Reply to comment
5. And if you need to perform actions on a group of comments, you can select each highlighted comment using key X, this will tick the corresponding checkbox of selected comment. pressing X again will untick the box.
6. You can toggle selection of comments between those ticked and unticked using Shift+X.
7. Once you have tick marked required comments, you can perform bulk actions with these keys:
- Shift+A – approve selected comments
- Shift+U – unapprove selected comments
- Shift+S – mark selected comments as spam
- Shift+D – delete selected comments
Hopefully, these shortcuts will save you time and make you more productive writing for stuff you love.
