Smaller Boot time always lead to a happy and more productive user while while longer and delayed start up of Windows systems usually gets annoying and frustrating. Here’s a nice utility that lets you check your Windows boot up time pretty easily so that you can take actions to make your Windows system boot faster.
BootRacer is a free and lightweight(mere 800 KB) utility that’ll install in a breeze and let you run a race of your system boot up with stop watch(No, you don’t require a separate stopwatch!!).
Firstly, it’ll note down the number of seconds it takes Windows start screen and then it’ll continue counting time until your desktop is ready with all your programs loaded, that are set to run at windows startup.
Here’s what i got with one of my older PC running Windows XP with lots of programs at startup.
And the results after i removed a few startup entries.
After knowing your boot time, you can take steps to make your Windows system boot faster and then again perform a Boot Race and compare the results.
