Many of us regularly use MS-Word but most of us aren’t aware of most of the useful and handy features that are available with it. The Research feature of the word has been present since 2003 but it’s presence wasn’t felt as most of us preferred to go to the browser and search for our query or even the meaning of a single word.
There are different ways of accessing this feature. You may right click and select look up in the context menu. The other method includes selecting the particular word and doing alt+click. You can also go to the review tab and under proofing select the research button.
You can also configure the research options. Under the research options you can select or remove the sources from where the reference is taken. You can also add another source for a further detailed reference. You can filter the offensive words by using the parental control under the research options dialogue box.
This feature is an integral part of every MS-Office application. I found this hidden feature of the MS-Word to be a handy, useful and a time saving one.
If you are using any hidden lesser known features of MS-Word, feel free to share with us in comments below.
