One of the unique features of AVG Antivirus suite is its Link Scanner which keeps an eye on websites you visit and prevents you from visiting unsafe websites. This feature was earlier available only if you install AVG Antivirus suite but now AVG is offering LinkScanner as a standalone plugin for Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer.

Once installed, It’ll automatically scan links on search result pages in Firefox and Internet Explorer and provide a green check if link is safe, yellow or orange exclamation sign if caution is needed and a red cross in case website is found to be harmful.
And if you do click on red link, or open that webpage directly then it’ll again give you a warning though you can click on a link provided to view webpage that is marked harmful. It’s a great way to stay safe online in case your antivirus suite lacks this feature. [via DownloadSquad]
