Now you won’t have to look for Gmail Search Operators Guide every time you want to search an e-mail from thousands of messages you have in inbox. With this new Gmail Labs feature, Search Autocomplete, just type few letters and Gmail will provide you with suggestions which you can quickly click on to view search results saving you a lot of time.

According to Gmail team, most of the searches performed in Gmail Search are about Contacts, so the first type of suggestions will be from your Contacts List. So if you want to find messages from John, just start typing John and you’ll get suggestion automatically.

It can also suggest advanced search operators of Gmail e.g. typing in into search box will provide suggestions like in:inbox, in:starred.

With this auto-complete search in Gmail, searching your email will become effortless once you enable it in Labs Settings panel.
