Found a great online radio station but don’t have time to listen at the moment. Wouldn’t it be better to record your favorite online radio station so that you can listen to it anytime later. Here’s how to record your favorite radio stations for free.
1. Search for your favorite radio station at Shoutcast and then click on Tune In.
2. A pop up window will open up that’ll start playing the selected station. Click on Listen in Winamp or Other Player.
3. It’ll then ask for confirmation, select “Play in your Default Media Player” and hit Save.
4. Save the Playlist file to your computer when your Browser prompts you.
5. Now grab AIMP Media player from here which is a free to use media player for Windows. Install it on your computer and then start it. Now click on plus icon at the bottom of the player and select Playlist and then open the playlist file you saved earlier.
6. Click on Play and your favorite radio station will start playing. Now to record the streaming radio, click on Radio Cap button.
When you need to stop recording click again on Radio Cap.
7. By Default AIMP will store recorded music in your Documents folder which you can configure from Options. It automatically organizes your recorded collection into date based folders. To adjust recording options, click on tiny button at top left corner and select Options.
8. In options dialog box, click on Streaming under Player and adjust recording options under Record radio to match your needs. You can select the output file format, the folder where to save and time after which to split recording into different file.
One thing AIMP player misses out on is Scheduling the recording of radio station. If you know or have used such tool before, share your thoughts in comments.
