View PowerPoint and TIFF files in your Browser using Gmail

Gmail Now you won’t have to download PowerPoint presentations or TIFF files from your Gmail account to view them as Gmail now lets you view both PowerPoint and TIFF files just like it supports PDF, Word or Excel documents.

Next time you receive a PowerPoint file, just click on View and it’ll open up in your browser in the same viewer that Gmail uses for PDF files.

The PowerPoint viewer offers a lot of functionality including allowing you to convert the PowerPoint file to PDF(just click on Print on top of the viewer), edit your presentations online using Google Docs. It also supports zoom in/ zoom out for PowerPoint files.

Also you can view TIFF images in your browser in the same viewer as PDF or PowerPoint viewer. TIFF image format is usually used for scanned documents and a single TIFF file can have multiple pages within. Most of the desktop image viewers are not able to show more than one page of a TIFF file but Gmail TIFF viewer will show you all the pages of TIFF file right within your browser. You can also convert your TIFF file to PDF file on the go(just click on Print).

It is not a Labs feature and is enabled by default for all Gmail accounts.
