It is sometimes important to have duplicates of the data files that are important to you. Back4Sure is a freeware utility for Windows that can make the backing up of data really simple. It can backup the data to a portable drive that can be a thumb drive, flash drive or any other portable disk. It has a tree view in the preferences menu which allows you to select the files that you intend to backup.
It remembers the external drive that you have assigned for storing the backup data. All files are simply copied or alternatively stored in standardized Zip or 7Zip containers. It also has the option to clean up the target directory which has orphaned files that have no source.
Back4Sure logs everything it does in a plain text file, but users can opt for a second format optimized for automated analysis.
