Though Firefox 3 introduced greater blending with OS themes, the blending is not upto what it should be. Mozilla Links blog has a nice article on how to blend Firefox in Vista Looks using various add-ons like Glasser to make Toolbar area translucent just like title bar, Compact Menu to convert menu bar into a single button and some user styles to give Bookmarks bar a glossy effect just like standard toolbar in Windows Vista Explorer.

Here is a good news for Friendfeed users. Friendfeed now allows you to receive updates via IM. This feature would surely lead to increase in Friendfeed user base as visiting website to see updates is too much an effort. But since IM clients are open almost whole day, now updates can be easily recieved.
Friendfeed is able to send notifications as IM’s over Google Talk or Jabber.

Google today silently released updated version of its sleek and fast browser Google Chrome. The beta 2 version which was released 2 months ago got much attention from users. Though a lot of issues were reported regarding its stability and performance, yet it is one of the fastest browsers on the planet. With Google releasing update for Google chrome, it looks like a lot of issues would now be fixed.
This update fixes some stability issues with Flash, Quicktime and Silverlight. It also addresses issues of pop-up spoofing vulnerability.

Gmail Labs team today released two new Labs features for Gmail that let you add Google Calendar and Google Docs Gadgets to Gmail.
Google Calendar Gadget lets you view the agendas and gives you an alert when you have a meeting. Google Docs gadget lets you see your recently accessed documents and provides a search box to search within your documents stored at Google Docs.

I just discovered this new feature in Google Reader that might be useful to analyze your reading trends. Google Reader now allows you to analyze reading trends of each individual feed you are subscribed to.
To view trends for a particular feed, open your favorite feed in Google Reader and look out for show details link on right side.

Here’s a new feature in Gmail you might not have otherwise noticed. Gmail now allows adding emoticons and smileys to your messages. Earlier, Gmail supported smileys only for Gmail chat, but today, Gmail team released this feature for Gmail messages.
