Mozilla today announced winners of its Extend Firefox 3 contest after reviewing over 100 extensions.

Digg today officially launched a Firefox 3 extension that creates a toolbar in Firefox 3, and while you browse the web, you can submit stories to Digg directly using the toolbar. If the page you are visiting is already dugg, then it will show number of diggs and comments and will let you digg the story.

Mozilla has released updated version Firefox 3.0.1 for Firefox 3 users with some security and stability enhancements.

The update will be automatically available to all Firefox 3 users within 24-48 hours, but if you are so eager to update, Go to Help > Check for Updates to manually update Firefox 3 to 3.0.1.

It is recommended that all Firefox 3 users should update to Firefox 3.0.1.

If you are still using Internet Explorer or older version of Firefox, then you should immediately update to Firefox 3.0.1 as it is more faster, secure and stable.

You might be aware of the fact that Firefox 3 provides automatic virus scanning of downloaded files on completion of download. This feature works only when your system has an Anti Virus program installed. Though this feature may be useful but the scanning of downloaded files may be annoying as it puts extra load on system and it is not that necessary as most anti virus softwares provide real time monitoring and protection.
