Soon Google Maps will show high resolution images in Google Maps as Google will have access to Geo-1 Satellite imagery. The Geo-1 satellite can capture at .41 meters in black and white and 1.65 meters in color but due to security reasons, Google Maps will show imagery in 50 centimeters resolution.

The new design focuses more on the Search function and the tabs underneath the search bar are removed. Removing tabs has made interface more easy to use and less confusing.
