Soon Google Maps will show high resolution images in Google Maps as Google will have access to Geo-1 Satellite imagery. The Geo-1 satellite can capture  at .41 meters in black and white and 1.65 meters in color but due to security reasons, Google Maps will show imagery in 50 centimeters resolution.

One of the nifty features of Google Maps is the Street View which lets you move through and view each and every corner of the city. The Street View which was earlier available for USA and France is now also available for Australia and Japan.

Google Maps today rolled out its new and redesigned interface which is much more easier to use than earlier version. The new design focuses more on the Search function and the tabs underneath the search bar are removed. Removing tabs has made interface more easy to use and less confusing.
